Sustainable cities and green design
Many cities face the multifaceted challenge of aging civil infrastructure, decreased operations and capital improvement budgets, and increased environmental pressure on their water bodies. At the same time, urban areas are experiencing a renewed interest in green and sustainable water management practices, and a new urbanism that focuses on making cities more livable. This combination of complex challenges and a push for sustainable urban renewal requires a new and highly integrative approach for managing water and wastewater infrastructure and the rivers and waterfronts central to many cities. To manage these challenges, municipalities are exploring how needed capital improvements in civil infrastructure can be targeted to simultaneously achieve environmental goals, address new social and livability requirements, and reduce costs.LimnoTech has been working with cities and communities to improve stormwater and wastewater infrastructure and enhance receiving water quality for years. Water sustainability is focused on creating cost-effective solutions that work in the long-term—a goal LimnoTech has pursued since our beginning in 1975.
