Location

Southern California office

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise, business development initiative, and client management in a range of service areas involving water resources, water quality, and ecosystem exposures and impacts.
  • Technically contribute to and manage environmental and water resources projects in project teams, some managed by other offices and some by the SCO. Work originating in the Southern California Office will provide opportunities to supervise inter-office project teams, develop relationships with clients, work proactively with clients to find solutions to their problems, manage project budgets, and prepare technical reports and proposals.
  • Expand partner and client relationships in California and the West, leveraging LimnoTech’s qualifications, depth of project experience, and national reputation in its key service areas.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in environmental engineering or related environmental science, or an equivalent combination of upper level/graduate coursework and experience.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Project management experience and ability to effectively manage multiple clients, tasks, and objectives.
  • Ability and interest in business development to help expand the regional practice.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent analytical and computational abilities, and strong computer skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed for business, mainly within the U.S.  
  • Legal ability to work in the United States for any employer (proper documentation required).

Senior Environmental Engineer/Scientist

Responsibilities

Current technical expertise needs include stormwater management, low impact development, green infrastructure and stream restoration.
  • Technically contribute to and manage environmental and water resources projects in the Mid-Atlantic and also some managed by other offices. Mid-Atlantic projects will require supervision of inter-office project teams, developing relationships with clients, and working proactively with clients to find solutions to their problems, manage project budgets, and prepare technical reports and proposals.
  • Expand partner and client relationships in the Mid-Atlantic Region, leveraging LimnoTech’s qualifications, depth of project experience, and national reputation in its key service areas.

Environmental Engineer/Scientist

 
Location

Washington, DC Office

Responsibilities
The engineer or scientist hired will provide support for a variety of interesting and innovative projects in LimnoTech’s service areas, possibly including:
  • Water quality modeling and watershed assessments
  • Watershed, stream and lake restoration, planning, and design
  • Data analysis, processing and management
  • Hydraulic/hydrologic evaluations
  • Stormwater management, planning, and design
  • Water supply, allocation and reuse assessments and planning
  • Ecosystem restoration assessment and design

Our scientists and engineers work closely with senior staff to develop sound approaches for addressing our clients’ problems.  Initial tasks are likely to include data management and analysis, assistance with field work, development of inputs for water quality models, and interpretation and presentation of results. Responsibility and opportunities will be commensurate with experience and capability.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related scientific discipline from an accredited university program is required.
  • Relevant work experience is preferred.  Training/experience in data management and analysis, water quality modeling, stream restoration, or other area is desirable. Capabilities with R, Visual Basic or Python programming are also beneficial.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as are strong analytical and computational abilities.

Stormwater Plan Reviewer (Contract Position)

 
Location

Washington, DC Office (working in Anne Arundel County)

9- to 10-month, full-time contract employment position to provide engineering support on-site at client offices in Annapolis, MD. Option for an additional 12-month extension and potential for permanent full-time employment.

Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze database of stormwater BMP data and GIS coverage to identify inaccurate or missing information for items such as location, structure type, permit approval dates, BMP structure type, etc.
  • Research, compile, and confirm/update BMP facility records by reviewing engineering plans. This work will include reviewing previously submitted engineering plans and populating a BMP database with information from the plans. Some of the fields to be populated include drainage area, BMP structure type, built date, and approval dates.

Depending on qualifications, other responsibilities may include:

  • Verify or correct BMP spatial location in GIS by comparing engineering plans and spatial location.
  • Delineate drainage areas for all BMP facilities by digitizing polygons shown on engineering plans, which may be completed by georeferencing plans.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of Associate's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.  Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or other relevant field a plus.
  • 2 years of relevant professional experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with GIS and/or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work on site at office in Anne Arundel County, MD.
  • Strong understanding of land development plans, stormwater management plans, and utility design.
  • Knowledge of Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Low Impact Design (LID).
  • Ability to review plans and populate database.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent analytical and computational abilities, and strong computer skills.
  • Legal ability to work in the United States for any employer (proper documentation required).

Software Skills:

  • Microsoft Excel, Office, and Access
  • ESRI ArcGIS
