Environmental Engineer

 
Location

Washington, DC office

Responsibilities
The engineer hired will provide support for a variety of interesting and innovative projects in LimnoTech’s service areas, possibly including:
    • Water quality modeling and watershed assessments
    1. Hydraulic/hydrologic evaluations
    2. Contaminant fate and transport
    3. Sediment quality assessment
    4. Watershed, stream and lake restoration planning, design, and construction oversight
    5. Stormwater management, planning, and design

Our staff work together closely to develop sound approaches for addressing our clients’ problems. Initial tasks are likely to include data management and analysis, assistance with field work, development of inputs for water quality models, and interpretation and presentation of results.

Qualifications
  • MS or MSE in Environmental Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited university program is required.
  • 1-3 years relevant work experience is preferred. Training/experience in data management and analysis, water quality modeling, stream restoration, or other area is desirable. Capabilities with Visual Basic or Python programming are also beneficial.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as are strong analytical and computational abilities.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic team members with good interpersonal skills thrive in our collegial organization. If you don’t enjoy technical challenges and collaboration, then we’re probably not for you. But if you like working with other smart, dedicated people to solve problems, we’d like to hear from you.
  • LimnoTech is highly team-oriented. To develop the needed working relationships, all applicants must be willing to work on site at our Washington, DC office location, Monday through Friday, as well as travel occasionally to our other offices.

Hydraulic/Hydrologic Engineer or Scientist

Ann Arbor office

Responsibilities
The scientist or engineer hired will provide support for a variety of interesting and innovative projects in LimnoTech’s service areas, possibly including:
    1. Hydraulic/hydrologic evaluations for inland and coastal waters
    2. Hydraulic analysis and design of conveyance systems, including hydraulic transient analysis
    3. Flood risk evaluation and management, including evaluation and design of flood control measures
    4. Ecosystem restoration assessment and design
    5. Stormwater management, planning and design
    6. Watershed, stream and lake restoration planning and design

The nature of the work and level of responsibility will depend on individual experience and ability. Junior scientists and engineers work closely with senior staff to develop sound approaches for addressing client problems, whereas more senior professionals will work more independently.

Qualifications
  • MS (or MSE) in Civil, Hydraulic, Hydrologic or Environmental Engineering or Sciences, or related disciplines from an accredited university program is required for consideration.
  • Our needs span a range of prior experience from new graduates with no work experience  to  professionals with up to 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as are strong analytical and computational abilities.

Environmental Intern

 
Location

El Segundo, CA

Responsibilities
Our summer interns typically work on a variety of projects.  Responsibilities are expected to include:
    1. Data management and analysis
    2. Literature review
    3. Support from the El Segundo office on projects in the region and throughout the U.S.

The position is expected to start in late April or May 2014 and last through August 2014.

Qualifications
  • At least 1 year completed toward a graduate degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related scientific discipline at an accredited university.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as are strong analytical and computational abilities.
  • Relevant work experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be legally able to work in the U.S. (proper documentation required).

Accounts Payable Clerk (Part Time)

 
Location

Ann Arbor office

Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for compiling, processing, and maintaining accounts payable records.  Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Verify approval on all invoices and check requests
  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
  • Update and maintain vendor database
  • Audit and verify expenses reports
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Process and follow-up on rush items
  • Maintain accounts payable files
  • Report sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices
  • 1099 preparation
  • Special projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • 4-6 years experience in a corporate environment
  • Associates' Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of accounting computer systems and software
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
  • Eye for detail; accuracy is imperative
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as are strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel
