Joey Barker
Joey Barker, PG, is a Senior Geologist with nearly 20 years of experience working on complex environmental projects involving multidisciplinary teams. Her expertise includes environmental site assessments; remedial geological, hydrogeological, and sediment investigations; exposure pathway evaluations; completing due diligence studies; remedial activities; and site conceptual model development. She is experienced with working through complex problems with numerous stakeholders, including clients, property owners, public groups, and regulatory agencies.
Joey has experience coordinating and implementing complex site investigations for numerous contaminants of concern, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs), metals, chlorinated solvents, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Her project work has included hydrogeological investigations, including slug testing, pumping tests, and tracer tests. She has experience with direct push, hollow stem auger, rotary sonic, Tar-specific green optical screening tooling (TarGOST), hydraulic profile tooling (HPT), and cone penetrometer testing (CPT) investigations; data analysis and interpretation, identifying preferential pathways for dense non-aqueous phase liquids (DNAPL) and light non-aqueous phase liquids (LNAPL) migration; evaluating groundwater-surface water interaction, aquifer testing data, and groundwater data trends.
Joey is a licensed Professional Geologist in Wisconsin. She has a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Michigan, respectively.
Joey works at LimnoTech’s Corporate Headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
