Scott Bell named COO of LimnoTech

As we look ahead to what’s next for LimnoTech, we are pleased to announce that Scott Bell has taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Scott joined LimnoTech in 1992, and over the past 33 years, he has been instrumental in developing what LimnoTech is today —a vibrant company with a strong reputation for innovation, creativity, and problem-solving, with a deep bench of scientists, engineers, planners, and designers working around the world.
Scott has covered many aspects of our project and client portfolio, leading projects and initiatives, hiring and mentoring staff, and moving into a critical operational role. Scott took over leading our business operations with our former COO John Marr’s retirement in 2022. Operational management is a coordinated effort across our project, administrative, and financial teams. Scott has been central to ensuring that everything works together and that we perform well as a company. We’ve never been better managed at the project level and across our business operations.
In addition to overseeing LimnoTech’s operations, Scott manages projects for various industrial, municipal, and federal clients. Scott’s technical expertise centers on environmental remediation and restoration, and he serves as LimnoTech’s practice leader for PFAS and emerging contaminants. Throughout his career at LimnoTech, Scott has planned and executed scores of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering, water quality management, wastewater discharge impact analysis, stormwater management, and engineering feasibility evaluation projects across North America.
Outside of his work at LimnoTech, Scott has been an adjunct lecturer in environmental engineering design at the University of Michigan. He has taught professional development courses for the Engineering Society of Detroit, delivered numerous technical papers and presentations, and served on several professional boards and committees. Scott is a licensed professional engineer and a Board-Certified Environmental Engineer by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers.
