David Dilks, PhD, is a Senior Principal at LimnoTech responsible for assessing water quality issues, primarily through developing and applying mathematical models. Dave has directed more than 250 studies on water bodies and watersheds nationwide. This work has included watershed simulation models, hydrodynamic models, and water quality models for conventional and toxic pollutants. Dave has been involved in the total maximum daily load (TMDL) program since its outset, having conducted or served as a technical reviewer for over 200 TMDLs. He served as lead author of the Science Based Target Network’s technical guidance document for calculating science-based targets for the protection of freshwater quantity and quality for basins worldwide and has co-authored three national technical guidance manuals on watershed and water quality modeling and assessment. Dave has also served as a technical reviewer for EPA guidance documents, professional journals, and research proposals.
