Tim Schmitt is a Principal and Senior Environmental Scientist with over 30 years of experience centered on NPDES and MS4 program support; watershed studies; stormwater management, monitoring, and BMPs; TMDL studies and load reduction planning and analysis; and Clean Water Act compliance. During his tenure at LimnoTech, Tim has provided project and task management for multiple large and complex projects for local, state, and federal clients. His recent focus has been helping clients comply with various requirements stemming from the Chesapeake Bay TMDL. He has led projects to develop watershed implementation plans, TMDL implementation plans, and other planning documents involving large amounts of data analysis and presentation.
Tim has also led numerous data collection and analysis efforts, including spatial and desktop analysis of opportunities to implement pollutant reduction, field studies for water quality, permitting, database updates, and MS4 support activities. For federal clients, he has focused on technology transfer and authored guidance documents for CSOs and more than a dozen fact sheets on wastewater, CSO, and stormwater technologies and management techniques for EPA. Tim has supported data collection, interpretation, and writing for several EPA Reports to Congress, including serving as the primary author of the most recent ‘Report to Congress on Combined Sewer Overflows into the Great Lakes Basin.’ He has also supported extensive data collection and interpretation projects for EPA, including efforts for the Clean Watersheds Needs Survey and the national CSO program.
