Laura Ziemelis

Laura Ziemelis (formerly Weintraub), PE, is a Vice President and Environmental Engineer with 30 years of experience supporting public, private, and research clients in water sustainability, watershed planning, and decision-support system development. She directs LimnoTech’s corporate water stewardship practice area, supporting companies in tech, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, and agriculture sectors with water stewardship strategy and target setting; water stewardship program development and implementation; water accounting; context-based water risk assessments; replenish project scoping and benefit quantification; and sustainability reporting. She is an AWS Standard Professionally Credentialed Specialist. Laura co-led the development of methodologies and guidance to quantify volumetric (VWBA 2.0), water quality (WQBA), and biodiversity (BioBA) benefits of water stewardship projects. Laura currently provides technical support and leadership for two water collaboratives established to help advance the Water Resilience Coalition’s (WRC) ambition to mobilize corporate water stewardship in 100 basins globally: the California Water Resilience Initiative (CWRI) and Mississippi Basin Water Action (MRWAC). Primary activities include basin goal and target setting, roadmap development, and project pipeline development. Laura has a BSE in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado.
