LimnoTech at Climate Week NYC 2024

September 18, 2024

Climate Week NYC is an annual event held in partnership with the United Nations General Assembly and run in coordination with the United Nations and the City of New York. This year, the climate event takes place from September 22 through September 29 and is hosted by the Climate Group, an international non-profit.

The Climate Group shares that the event brings together people from international business, government, civil society, and climate sector organizations to “drive the transition, speed up progress, and champion change that is already happening [for climate action].” Over 600 events and activities will be held across the City of New York, with opportunities for in-person, hybrid, and online participation.

Several of LimnoTech’s Water Stewardship, Climate Change Resiliency and Adaptation, and Environmental Justice experts and team members (Laura Weintraub, Tim Dekker, Anouk Savineau, Saloni Dagli, Lauren Barnum) will be participating and contributing to several activities and events held throughout Climate Week. They are all looking forward to learning, contributing, connecting with many of our clients and partners, and meeting new people passionate about full access to climate resiliency and adaptation, clean and sustainable water supplies, environmental integrity, and creating an equitable future for all.

Some of the forums and workshops happening during Climate Week that our team will be directly involved in include the CEO Circle of the Water Resilience Coalition (WRC) organized by the CEO Water Mandate, the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN)‘s celebration of “Trailblazing the First Science-Based Targets for Nature“, Sciens Water and Columbia University’s Water Center’s Rethinking Water 2024 Stakeholder Perspectives for Action, Nature Action 100‘s Ramping Up Private Sector Action to Meet Global Biodiversity Goals, CEO Water Mandate’s Corporate Water Stewardship session, a co-hosted session by WASH4Work, WaterAid, UNICEF‘s, and The Nature Conservancy’s “Accelerating Adaptation.”
