Xavier Nogueira is an Environmental and Water Resources Scientist with expertise in surface water hydrology, water resources management, climate science, geology, and data science. Xavier joined LimnoTech in February 2022, bringing technical experience in Python development, machine learning, hydraulic modeling, and geospatial programming.
Xavier obtained a Master of Science degree in Hydrologic Science, specializing in Earth Surface Processes, from the University of California – Davis. There he primarily worked as a research assistant conducting novel fluvial geomorphology analyses and delivering reports to stakeholders. As an undergraduate student at Temple University, Xavier studied ancient river deposit mineralogy as a part of an NSF-funded internship. He published an independent research paper in a peer-reviewed urban-environmental public health journal. Having taught an undergraduate climate change course and presented research at conferences, Xavier also has experience communicating with fellow scientists and non-technical audiences. At LimnoTech, Xavier has worked on diverse projects where he has developed machine learning pipelines, supported corporate water stewardship decisions, and automated PCSWMM input QA/QC flagging analyses.
Xavier is located at LimnoTech’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Office in Washington, DC.
